What This Site Is
mathewjohnson.me is a personal professional portfolio operated by Mathew Johnson, an individual. It is not a commercial product or subscription service. There are no accounts, no payments, and no user-generated profiles.
The Chat Widget
This site includes a chat widget powered by the Anthropic Claude API. The widget is configured to answer questions about Mathew Johnson's professional background. It is not a general-purpose AI assistant.
The chat widget is subject to a rate limit of 20 messages per 24-hour window per IP address to prevent abuse and manage API costs.
The widget is provided as-is. Responses are AI-generated and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. Do not rely on them as authoritative statements of fact.
Acceptable Use
Use this site for its intended purpose: evaluating Mathew Johnson as a professional candidate. Do not attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract unintended behavior from the chat widget. Do not use automated scripts or bots to interact with the chat widget. Do not attempt to circumvent the rate limiter through IP rotation or other means.

Our Commitment
We are working toward meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards across the site, including the CV page, chat widget, and all legal pages.
Current State
Automated accessibility testing is used to identify and fix issues. We are aware that automated testing catches approximately 30% of accessibility issues and are working to close the remaining gaps.
Known areas under active review include contrast ratios in certain UI elements, keyboard navigation flow through the chat widget, and screen reader support for dynamically loaded chat responses.
